Project Details
This unique project included renovations to the Round House, a 1960’s steel framed residence supported on a central pedestal, and the replacement of the original guest house with a new pool house.
The Di Salvo Engineering Group was challenged with the integration of the Round House renovations into the unique structural system that allows the residence to rotate 360 degrees and provide a dynamic panoramic view of the beautiful surroundings. The renovations required supplemental framing at the roof, ceiling and floor framing and repairs to the exposed steel guardrail along the exterior balcony.
The new Pool House is located within the footprint of the previous guest house but is sited slightly lower so as not to obstruct the view. The glass railing along the edge of the Pool House roof creates a clean look and provides a terrace with unobstructed views.
