June 1, 1973 - The Firm is Founded
Richard S. Di Salvo, PE starts the firm as a one-person endeavor in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Dick founded the firm to offer a higher level of structural engineering service than prevailed at that time.

Mauro Cetra, PE joins Dick to form Di Salvo + Cetra. Over the next ten years, Di Salvo + Cetra developed into one of the leading structural firms in the state.

Dick becomes President of the newly named corporation, Di Salvo Associates, and makes John MacDonald, PE and Art Sanders, AIA partners of the firm.

Mid-1980's -
The leadership group of Clay Hines, Ken Jones and Bruce Richardson, who contributed greatly to the firm’s growth over the next two decades, join the firm.

Clay Hines heads up a new office in Fishkill, New York.

The firm is renamed Di Salvo MacDonald Ericson.

The Company is the recipient of CT Engineers in Private Practice coveted 1995 Outstanding Engineering Award for The National Hall in Westport, CT.

Ken, Clay and Bruce are promoted to Principal and become new Shareholders. The firm is renamed The Di Salvo Ericson Group, Structural Engineers, Inc. (TDEG) to recognize the major contributions of all the principals and associates.

1998 -
Celebration of 25 year anniversary in June but then Dick dies suddenly in July.

2001 -
TDEG becomes a Professional Corporation (PC) in the State of New York due to a growing clientele that Clay Hines has developed in that state.

2004 -
Bruce was made President and took on the responsibility for general management and continued to oversee operations & project management. Clay and Ken became Vice Presidents with Clay directing marketing activities & quality management. Ken continued as financial director & assumed responsibility for HR. Val stepped down as President while remaining Chairman of the Board.

2009 -
TDEG is awarded “Best Firms to Work For” by Structural Engineer magazine and research firm ZweigWhite. This is an annual award where industries are able to view how they stack up against their peers. TDEG won “Top Fifteen”.

The firm was renamed to The Di Salvo Engineering Group, Structural Engineers. Sadly, Clay Hines passed away suddenly the same year.

Trevor Hill is made a Principal of the firm.

Later in 2015, the firm moved out of Ridgefield after occupying five different offices over 42 years and resettled in Lee Farm Corporate Park in Danbury.

Ken Jones retires after nearly 39 years with TDEG.

To mark the 50th year providing structural engineering services, TDEG launches a new logo. Also, TDEG moves to a new office space at 93 Lake Avenue, Danbury.
