Article Featured in Modern Steel Construction Magazine

The September 2019 issue of Modern Steel Construction magazine features an article by Trevor Hill, Principal, entitled “Enhanced Education” about the new Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  TDEG worked closely with the architect, Antinozzi Associates, for the design of this brand new 208,000 square foot school.

Dominic Ammirato Receives Scholarship

The Richard Di Salvo Engineering Scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating student who is pursuing an Engineering Degree at Ridgefield High School.   The scholarship is in memory of Richard Di Salvo, founder of The Di Salvo Engineering Group, made possible by his family after he passed away in 1998.  Richard’s daughter, Elizabeth Di Salvo, was present on Tuesday, June 4, when the scholarship was awarded to Dominic Ammirato of Ridgefield.   Dominic will be attending Lehigh University next year.  His proud parents are Lynn and Vincent Ammirato of Ridgefield.   Pictured below are Dominic and Elizabeth at the Awards  Ceremony.  Congratulations Dominic!

Welcome Summer Interns!

Jesse attends the University of Colorado-Boulder and will be graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering and Master’s in Structural Engineering & Structural Mechanics. Eric is attending the University of Connecticut and will graduate in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a minor in Engineering Management.   We are excited to have them as part of the team for the summer!

New Shareholders

TDEG announces the addition of two new shareholders:   Stephen Lehigh, PE and Ryan Walsh, PE.  Steve joined the firm in May 2015, was promoted to Project Manager in 2016, and now heads up the Colorado branch office.   Ryan Walsh was hired in September of 2015 and in 2018 was also promoted to Project Manager.  The addition of these shareholders recognizes their contributions to the firm and helps to maintain a steady path of growth and expansion for the future.

Josh Youngquist Joins TDEG

TDEG is pleased to announce that Joshua Youngquist of Denver has recently joined the firm as a Project Engineer in our Colorado office. Joshua graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2016.  Joshua has two years of experience in the structural design of commercial and residential projects.  He joins Stephen Lehigh, PE in the Castle Rock office.  He will be responsible for the structural analysis and design of the firm’s commercial, educational, and residential building projects.  Welcome Josh!

Congratulations!

Congratulations are in order for Chris Briggs.  He recently passed the CT State Licensing Examination and is now a Connecticut Licensed Professional Engineer.   Chris was recently promoted to Senior Project Engineer.   What’s more is Chris and his wife Jennifer welcomed their new baby girl, Madelyn Grace, into the world on December 9, 2018!

Sag Harbor Residence

A home in Sag Harbor, NY was named a 2018 Best of Year Awards finalist in the Country House Category.  The awards event was held by Interior Design on November 30, 2018 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.  The architect honored to receive this award was Janson Goldstein.  TDEG is proud have been a part of this project, which was also featured in the 2018 Architecture Issue of Hampton’s Cottages & Gardens.

AIA/CT Engineering Excellence Award

Steve Lehigh presented TDEG’s work in the Highland Meadows Senior Residence project to a panel of judges for the 2019 ACEC/CT Engineering Awards on Monday, December 3, 2018.  TDEG is pleased to announce that this award will be presented, along with other recipients of awards, on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington, CT.   TDEG was honored to have been involved with this renovation and reconstruction with Swartz Architecture of Poughkeepsie, NY.   This senior residence building was formally used as a hospital and helps to alleviate some of the scarcity of affordable senior housing in the area.
