Susan Acharya moved east from Illinois and joined TDEG on August 9, 2021. She completed her undergraduate studies in her native Nepal, graduating with a BE in Civil Engineering from United Technical College, Bharatpur, Nepal.
After working for several years in Nepal, including time as a volunteer for the National Reconstruction Authority following the 2015 earthquake, she enrolled in Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) and graduated with a MS in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering in May 2021. In 2023 Susan was promoted to Project Engineer and continues to be involved in the structural engineering and design of many projects
Born in a country full of natural beauty (Nepal) and an adventurer at heart, she finds joy in exploring the beauty of nature. Whether hiking through forests or watching the sunset over a quiet lake, Susan draws inspiration from the world around her. Her passion for writing comes alive in poems that capture the essence of these moments, blending the serenity of nature with the rhythm of words. When she’s not immersed in nature or crafting verses, you’ll find her in the kitchen, where she expresses her creativity through cooking. Each dish is a new adventure, just like the trails she loves to wander.
