Eagle Hill School

Project Details

The project scope included the design of a new multi-purpose room, as well as structural renovations to the existing adjacent classroom building, allowing for new floor layouts and the repurposing of existing space.

The roof of the new multi-purpose room features exposed structural beams and truss assemblies.  A series of interconnected steel tube trusses were designed, with a curved truss-girder section providing support for the radial portion of the roof and the corresponding glued laminated trusses.  Computer modeling was required to analyze the three-dimensional behavior of the roof system, as well as to aid in the design of members capable of accommodating the unique load paths.

Phase 2 of this project included Hardwick House, which houses over 250 students.  Renovations were made to accommodate the growing number of students.
