Project Details

The new CREC* Medical Professions and Teacher Preparation Magnet School provides education and medical curriculums for students in the 6th through 12th grades. The 149,000 square foot school has three stories and three story oval windows which deliver light to the interior portions of the building.

The school is a partnership between CREC, St. Francis Hospital, and the University of Hartford to educate students for careers in the medical/health and teaching professions. The educational focus is on preparation for college, while also offering certification for interim work as nursing assistants and as teacher cadets.

The first phase of the construction serves grades 6-9. The school will expand to serve grades 6-12 in future years.
