Brass City Regional Food Hub

Project Details

The food hub opened in May 2020 and offers local and regionally grown produce, dairy products, farm fresh eggs, artisan foods, and CT greenhouse products for sale. The 6,000 sq. ft facility was constructed on a former industrial brownfield site as a way to make inexpensive healthy food options more accessible to people in a part of the city known as a ‘food desert’ because of the lack of grocery stores nearby. Farmers bring their goods to the Food Hub where it is washed with state-of-the-art cleaning equipment, bagged, and made ready for sale.
