Awards

Project Awards: The fact that we are routinely associated with award-winning projects means that our commitment to high-quality service is well-placed.  The following projects were recently judged by juries of our peers and found to be worthy of award:

  • The Bronxville School Auditorium, Bronxville, NY:  This project was awarded the 2016 AIA NY Excelsior Award.  The structural work involved the complete gutting and renovation of the auditorium and science wing and the addition of an entry lobby.
  • The Prospector Theater, Ridgefield, CT:  This project was awarded the AIA CT 2015 Design Award.  The theater is a 23,000 sq. ft. three-screen theater, with two stories and a full basement.  The new playhouse replaces a town icon, the movie house built in 1939.
  • RCG Farm, Newtown, CT:  This was a 2015 People’s Choice Award winner.  The equestrian center is comprised of three buildings which include a 21,100 sq. ft. Stables building and a 20,000 sq. ft. Arena.

The following projects were granted awards in 2014:

  • Black Rock Congregational Church, Fairfield, CT: this project received the AIA CT 2014 People’s Choice Award for favorite Religious Building. It is a 55,000 sq. ft. new and renovated non-denominational church which incorporates many existing modified and adapted elements into newly imagined spaces
  • Winston Restaurant, Mt. Kisco, NY: this project received the AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley Honor Award. It is a renovation project of a commercial building on Main Street in Mt. Kisco.
  • CREC Medical Professions and Teacher Preparation Academy, New Britain, CT: this 146,000 sq. ft. middle and high school opened in September and was featured in the December 2014 issue International Masonry Institute as the Project of the Year.
  • Henry H. Wells Middle School, Brewster Central Schools: Winner of the AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley Citation Award. A three-level brick and block addition adds 26,000 SF of new space housing a new science wing which connects all levels of the existing building and includes an elevator. The three other additions are: the 800 square foot, fourth floor expansion of the library; the four-story, stair tower; and the new 2,750 square foot bus canopy.
