Description:
This is a lakeside contemporary residence that won an AIA architectural design award. The structural framing included numerous cantilevers, curved support elements and concentrated load transfers with hidden posts and girders. Outside, a curved concrete retaining wall follows the sloping grade of the lake. Also, a cantilevered two-story screen wall, only 8" thick, was designed to withstand considerable wind loads using pressure treated engineered lumber and reinforce concrete foundations.
