Description:
The new Western Connecticut State University facility serves as a student center for the Westside campus. It provides a full-service cafeteria and dining area, a game room/pub, fitness center, multi-purpose meeting and conference rooms, student activity space, lounge areas, and related campus-life and student-life facilities. Unlike the WCSU Midtown campus Student Center, which is geared to traditional-age students, the Westside campus Student Center will be designed to serve the needs of non-traditional students.

The structure of the student center is structural steel moment frames and concrete floor slabs. The facade is brick, metal-faced composite wall panels and glass. The student center has three stories and a mechanical penthouse. The project budget is $17,871,579 for this 49,000 SF building. Construction completion is planned for Fall 2006.
