Structural Engineer
Bruce D. Richardson, PE, Principal

Bruce is principal-in-charge for the firm's industrial work and serves as director of operations for the Construction Performance Analysis division. He has acquired a wide range of structural design experience associated with investigations, evaluations, renovations, and additions to industrial buildings, manufacturing plants, parking garages and related facilities. Bruce is experienced in designing to USDA and OSHA regulations.



Recent industrial projects for which Mr. Richardson had primary responsibility include:

  • Westreco Pilot Labs, Nestle R &D Center, New Milford, CT - three story, 75,000 SF, $9 million research and development addition to an existing food processing facility. This addition was constructed to meet USDA requirements.
  • Instapak Manufacturing Expansion, Sealed Air Corporation, Danbury, CT - 15,000 sf. addition to accommodate a storage tank farm and filling line.
  • SVG Lithography Systems, Inc. Wilton, CT - Renovation of a 200,000 sf. manufacturing plant to increase clean room facilities.
  • First Brands R & D Facility, Brookfield, CT - 14,000 sf. office and laboratory facility for full scale testing of automotive performance products.
  • Purdue Pharma, Ardsley, NY - the renovation of an existing 100,000 sf building into a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical research and development laboratory.
  • Pharmaceutical Discovery Corporation, Danbury, CT - Renovations for the installation of small scale manufacturing and production facilities including strengthening floors, support of roof top equipment, and construction of fire walls

Mr. Richardson's in-depth knowledge on such topics as the construction of clean rooms, USDA regulations, special coatings and finishes, and machine foundations enables him to effectively fulfill the program requirements of this special client group.
