Project Details

TDEG transformed this facility from a former IBM IT center into a state-of-the-art healthcare center that well suits the hospital’s reputation as the “#1 Orthopedic Hospital in the Nation.” To create a more welcoming and attractive facility, we designed a large cantilevered entrance canopy and bracketed façade, providing a sheltered entryway. Our engineers studied the existing floor systems of the building to ensure safety in the installation of new imaging equipment, including an MRI and an X-ray. Other renovations and alterations were made to the hospital, such as elevator installation, stair removal and replacement, and updated and redone rooftop equipment. This new screened rooftop apparatus, for which we also coordinated the location, allowed for the establishment more high-tech medical equipment in the hospital, as well as an emergency power system.

In addition to making all of these important changes and thus forging the way to better orthopedic healthcare, the Di Salvo Engineering Group also performed special inspections in the facility. Thanks to hard work from our dedicated staff, patients at the Hospital for Special Surgery may now have access to the latest in modern medical technology.
