Church of Saint Mary

Project Details

The Church of St. Mary is of traditional architectural design. The roof is supported by glue laminated wood timbers bearing on brick-faced masonry walls and steel tube columns. A 40 foot aluminum steeple crowns the nave over the altar. The nave of the church is 14,500 SF and seats 850 for services. A new 4,600 SF parish hall replaces the school gymnasium for social events. The narthex, which joins the nave and the hall consists of a wide vestibule with a brides room and a children’s room.

The new Church of St. Mary in Bethel, Connecticut replaced a long outgrown gothic church and united parishioners who had become divided by services held in separate locations.
