Addition to National Hall

Project Details

Three-story, 1,600 SF addition to an existing commercial building with a first finish floor elevation EL 9.0, in an AE10 Flood Zone. The addition is constructed on a micropiles, reinforced concrete pilecaps, grade beam and structural slab foundation, structural steel frame and wood framing infill.

Scope of work also included alterations inside the existing building removing steel columns and installing a monumental stair and the evaluation and design services for retrofitting flood proofing of the existing exterior walls. The Di Salvo Engineering Group was the structural engineer for the renovations and additions to the original building with similar structural systems in 1987 – 1994.
