 Architect: Swanke Hayden Connell & Partners, LLP New York, NY Description: The Harvest Time Assembly of God church, completed in 2003, provided the congregation with a 5,000 square foot sanctuary, classrooms and offices. The congregation has grown and is now planning a 40,000 square foot, two-story addition and renovations to the original church.
The plan for the steel-framed addition features the new 5,000 square foot sanctuary and a dramatic atrium with access to the lower level fellowship hall. The sanctuary roof is framed with exposed tube steel trusses spanning over 120 feet. Cables are used as bracing elements which, in combination with the abundant glass, create a light and airy place for worship and celebration. The existing two-level, 21,000 square foot church is being renovated to accommodate the addition Construction is planned for late summer/early fall 2011 Cost $15,000,000 (including site work).
