Val Ericson has extensive experience in the management and design of structural engineering projects. He joined our firm in 1985 and became a principal in 1986. His leadership of the structural engineering team and role as technical advisor and quality reviewer of the structural design and products of service has contributed greatly to the success of the firm. As the project's Principal-in-Charge, Mr. Ericson will be involved with meeting the client's expectations as to schedule, budget and quality, from the schematic design through to completed construction.Projects for which Mr. Ericson served as Principal-In-Charge:
Mr. Ericson serves as the Chairman of the Risk Management Program of the Coalition of American Structural Engineers, on the Board of Directors of the Construction Institute of the University of Hartford and as the Chairman of the Public Relations Committee/BPAD/Structural Engineering Institute. He is past president of the Board of Directors of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Connecticut (ACEC/CT). He is past president of Connecticut's Structural Engineers Coalition and has served on that organization's Board of Directors. He is an active Peer Reviewer for the American Council of Engineering Companies, has performed many firm peer review for the Structural Engineers Risk Management Council and has reviewed and advised over forty firms across the country with regard to improving both the practice of structural engineering and the management of engineering firms.
