Ken Jones,PE, the cubmaster for Pack 88, led the Webelos through the process of designing a structure by using the new Ridgefield Senior Center as an example. The Webelos looked at the plans for senior center and then donned their hardhats for a visit to the construction site. After approvng the steel, the Webelos returned to the office for juice and popcorn and an afternoon spent designing bridges using the "West Point Bridge Designer" program. After a long day and lots of fun, the Webelos had become skilled at designing bridges that would not fall into the river.

The Scott House and Home of The Ridgefield Historical Society
Architect: David Winfield Scott
Structural Engineering
The Scott House, built around 1740, is a rare surviving example of an early Colonial Saltbox. When the Scott House was threatened with demolition, a group of concerned citizens volunteered their work and raised funds to preserve a treasure and create a home for the new Ridgefield Historical Society.
The house was carefully dismantled and moved from the central business district of Ridgefield,Connecticut to a town-owned park, where it was reassembled and restored to its original appearance.
The foundation of the house is an underground, climate-controlled, archival storage vault, which houses the records of the Ridgefield Historical Society.
