Profile:
The new Regional Vocational Technical School at Brainard Airport in Hartford, Connecticut will be a one-story, 150' x 240', aircraft maintenance training facility with classroom, workshop, and hanger area. The hanger is 10,000 square feet and has a 31-foot tall center to be flanked by single-story classrooms, offices and specialty shop areas, including an area devoted to teaching students about the use of specialized composite materials in aircraft.

The building is a patterned masonry, concrete and glass structure that will be sited at the end of a Brainard Airport runway. Other new structures at the school include a test cell building, underground storage tanks, and a ramp connecting to the adjacent taxiway.

The construction cost of the new Vo-Tech school is $10 million.
